Just Ask, Terms of use
Please read section 6. The Board gives you AI-generated text. It can be wrong, even when every model agrees. It is not legal, financial, medical, tax or other professional advice.
1. About these terms
These terms are a contract between you and Just Ask Apps Ltd (company number 16606404, registered in England and Wales; "we", "us"). They apply when you use the Just Ask, The Board app. If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies. If you downloaded it from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply. Our privacy policy explains how information is handled.
2. Who can use the app
You must be 18 or over and able to enter into a contract, and you must also meet OpenRouter's requirements for holding an account.
3. What the app does
The app sends your question to several AI models that you choose, asks them to review each other's answers, and asks a Chair model to produce a single ruling. It does this through OpenRouter, a separate company, using your own OpenRouter account. We don't run or control the AI models, and which models are available can change at any time.
4. Your OpenRouter account and AI costs
- You need your own OpenRouter account. Your use of it is governed by your agreement with OpenRouter, and the AI model providers' terms may also apply.
- OpenRouter charges you directly for AI usage. These charges are separate from, and not included in, anything you pay us. We are not responsible for OpenRouter's charges, billing, availability or decisions.
- The cost estimates the app shows are estimates only. Actual charges depend on the models used, the length of answers, retries and stand-in models, and OpenRouter's prices at the time.
- Keep your key secure. We recommend setting a spending limit on it at openrouter.ai.
5. Free rulings and the unlock
- Each installation includes 3 trial rulings before you need to buy. A ruling counts when the Chair's final text is delivered. Follow-up questions don't count.
- A one-off in-app purchase ("the unlock") lets you keep using the app without that limit. It is not a subscription and does not renew. The price is shown in the store before you buy and includes any VAT.
- The unlock buys the app only. It does not include AI credit or AI usage. Every ruling and follow-up, including the 3 trial rulings, runs on your own OpenRouter account, and OpenRouter charges you for it. You need an OpenRouter account with credit to use the app at all.
- The unlock is linked to the Apple ID or Google account you buy with. You can restore it on other phones signed in to the same account using Restore purchase.
- Payment is taken by Apple or Google. Refund requests are handled by them under their policies: reportaproblem.apple.com for Apple, or your Google Play order history for Google.
- Your right to cancel: the unlock is digital content supplied straight away. When you buy it, you agree to it being supplied immediately and you acknowledge that, once supplied, you lose the 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. This does not affect your other legal rights.
- If the unlock is faulty, you are entitled under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to have it repaired or replaced or, if that isn't possible, to a price reduction or refund. Contact us at [email protected].
- We intend to keep the app available and working. If we ever withdraw it permanently, we will give reasonable notice in the app.
6. AI answers: important limits
- Rulings, answers, scores, estimates and drafts are generated by third-party AI models. They can be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, biased or inappropriate. Agreement between models does not make an answer correct.
- The app does not give professional advice. Don't rely on it as a substitute for a qualified lawyer, accountant, financial adviser, doctor, HR professional or other expert. Check anything important before you act.
- You are responsible for the decisions you make and for how you use what the app produces.
- Don't use the app in an emergency or where a wrong answer could put anyone at risk.
7. Using the app responsibly
You agree not to use the app to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to create harmful, abusive or deceptive content, or in breach of OpenRouter's or the model providers' usage policies. Don't enter other people's personal data unless you have a lawful reason to share it with those companies. Don't copy, modify or reverse-engineer the app except as the law allows.
8. Ownership
We own the app and its design. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it on devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal business purposes. Your questions are yours. Rights in AI output are governed by the model providers' terms; as between you and us, we claim no rights in it.
9. Our responsibility to you
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
- If defective digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content, and we failed to use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or pay you compensation.
- We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for the content of AI answers or decisions you make based on them, or for the acts, charges or failures of OpenRouter, the model providers, Apple or Google.
- If you use the app for business, we are not liable to you for loss of profit, business, revenue, data or opportunity, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the unlock.
10. Changes and updates
We may update the app, for example to add features, change the models on the ready-made boards, fix problems or comply with the law. We may update these terms; if a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it applies.
11. Ending
You can stop using the app at any time and delete your data in Settings. We may suspend your use if you seriously break these terms.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your local courts.
